FAQ

  1. Is The Sporting Network a social media platform?
  2. Yes and No.
The Sporting Network enables subscribers to connect to each other and use Social Media functionality to engage. Therefore, whilst it can be classed as a Social Media platform that is just the means by which subscribers can interact. The core capability consists of a range of applications, data insights and new content allowing players and fans to improve their sporting performance. We have also been described as an EdTech platform as we provide an educational service for the underserved in this popular industry.

  3. Don’t all professional footballers have data insights to support their sporting performance?
  4. No.

The footballing pyramid can be segmented into 4 tiers. The first tier consists of Elite footballers who play for clubs predominantly in the top two leagues in England. These players gain a lot of data insights from their clubs. However, these clubs have hundreds of other male and female players who are not served. We believe the next 3 tiers down consist of Aspirational players, Leisure players and fans who are underserved.

  5. Not sure why you are targeting fans?
  6. Football is a unique sport which is tribal in nature with fans seen as the “Twelfth Man”. Fans have a thirst for unique content. Moreover, fans want to be engaged and feel part of their team. After fan workshops and engagement studies we believe our unique applications will help tightly integrate fans into the football ecosystem and reduce the perceived growing gap with players.

  7. There is so much content on football so how do you add value?
  8. Sports news is a 24 hour business. Too many news stories are either based on speculation or are duplications of existing editorials.
The Sporting Network creates unique content (including data insights) which is continually updated, validated and shared in an ethical manner.

Moreover, during our engagement with the game’s regulating bodies, one key challenge is how to transcend the rules and regulations down the football pyramid. Integriti Accreditation engages players and fans through a “bottom-up” and fan-led “pull” which will ultimately improve the game we love. We believe the motivation to engage will be born from a genuine interest in novel content and the opportunity to compete with other fans to win unique prizes which you can not buy. Data Insights are derived from 4 data sources.
The sensor is one data source so it depends on how much insight you would like into your sporting performance.
However, we can gain data from different sources too (i.e. Fitbit, Apple Watch)
The sensor can be purchased directly from The Sporting Network, might be provided by a club or will be included as part of certain subscription packages.

To Democratise Sporting Performance we need this to be a free service. Saying that, we are a commercial business and have a responsibility to our stakeholders.
